In case you missed it, GamesBeat’s Resident Evil 4 Remake review dropped today. The reason I bring that up now is because it has eaten up most of my week. It was a sacrifice I was willing to make because I was looking forward to that game. Still, I had my head in the sand for part of the week. I don’t think I’ve missed too much, but if nothing else, I’ve got a new Bayonetta game to play.

Maybe it’s the aforementioned myopia, but I feel like I’ve heard a lot about the Microsoft-Activision deal this week. I’ll be honest, I’m getting a little tired of it. They’ve entered the negotiation phase and it’s just not fun to watch anymore. I don’t care who Microsoft sings and dances to this week – the steps and lyrics are the same. In better news, we have a release date for the highly anticipated System Shock remake. Hopefully we can finally play that soon.

I don’t even have to tell you what I’ll be playing this weekend – I think the title gave it away. That said, I might also try out the Diablo IV beta (assuming, of course, it doesn’t crash and I can wait out the queues). Coral Island, which is fast becoming a comfort game, also got a new update that I’ll probably check out too, when I have time. There may not be many games coming out this week, but Bayonetta is more than enough for me.

One last thing: as I was writing this I learned of the death of actor Lance Reddick. It’s a sad day to lose someone like that, who lent his voice (and sometimes likeness) to the likes of Sylens, Commander Zavala, and Quantum Break’s Martin Hatch. Heck, I hated Quantum Break, but I enjoyed his presence in it. He also played a live-action take on Albert Wesker in the recent Resident Evil Netflix show. His presence was incomparable and I will miss him.
